A Sin that Leads to Jannah…
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
“Sin may be more beneficial for a person, if it leads him to repent, than doing a lot of acts of worship. This is what is meant by the words of one of the salaf:‘A person may commit a sin and enter Paradise because of it, or he may do an act of worship and enter Hell because of it.’
They said: ‘How is that?’He said: ‘He may commit a sin and continues to think about it, and when he stands or sits or walks he remembers his sin, so he feels ashamed and repents and seeks forgiveness and regrets it, so that will be the means of his salvation. And he may do a good deed and continue to think about it, and when he stands or sits or walks he remembers it and it fills him with self-admiration and pride, so it is the cause of his doom.

SubhaanAllah …
And truly this brings to light the importance of repentance and self evaluation, may we return to this often and much. And may Allah ta’ala distance us from riyaa and self admiration. Ameen.
BarakAllahu Feek
Wa Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu
No doubt that this brings to light the importance of repentance and self evaluation.
Its amazing how many means Allah has given us to get close to Him. And how Allah has made all of us different in how we try to get close to Him. For someone might have a very repentant heart and this will bring him closer to His Lord, through the repentance. And another person might have some good deeds which were done sincerely for Allah which he continues to do regularly and because of that, He is saved from the Hellfire and given the bliss of Paradise.
It all shows us that we have to continue to strive to please our Lord with the capabilities that He has provided us. For the struggle with the evil within ourselves and the Shaytaan will continue until we breathe our last breath. So we ask Allah to make us those who die upon tawheed and while we are following the Sunnah according to the understanding of the Sahabah, may Allah be pleased with all of them.
MashaaAllah. And what you’ve stated – in highlighting the different avenues we may get closer to Allah – truly displays the immense mercy of Allah ta’ala. Truly amazing.
‘So we ask Allah to make us those who die upon tawheed and while we are following the Sunnah according to the understanding of the Sahabah, may Allah be pleased with all of them.’
Allahumma Ameen.
