Dr. Saleh as-Saleh passes away (rahimahullah)

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon

Shaykh, Dr. Muhammad al-Jibaly wrote via his yahoo group:

“I did not believe the news at first, but just called his phone, and his wife confirmed it to me, and said he was too exhausted, and this was the main cause of his death (at the young age of about 50). She said his body is now in al-Ansar hospital, and will be buried tomorrow morning in al-Baqee’.

His passing on Jumu’ah, and in the Prophet’s Masjid while performing ‘ibaadah, are indeed very good indicators. May Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) forgive him, augment his good deeds tremendously, and admit him to Jannah in the company of the prophets and the most righteous.”

SubhanAllah, I found out about the death of Dr. Saleh as Saleh earlier this week. I didnt have time to read the details because I was in a rush. I did not want to believe it at first but later when I was driving, I reminded myself of the hadith that knowledge is not taken from the hearts of men, rather it is taken with the death of the scholars. And with his passing, the knowledge that he used to spread via the paltalk lessons and other ways was also gone. SubhanAllah, and it makes one cry for the knowledge that has been lost from this Ummah by the passing away of Dr. Saleh as-Saleh rahimahullah.

I remember that when I first began to learn about the da’wah, da’watus salafiyyah, while I was still in college, I was looking for some audio lectures and books in English about the works of the Salaf. And when I came across Dr. Saleh as-Saleh’s website, it was a treasure of knowledge with his lectures teaching from the books of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibnul Qayyim rahimahumullah. And he also had some lectures and books on the deviated ideologies of the Sufis and the Rawaafidh. Because I was at such a point that I needed to learn about these ideologies and how they went astray from the path of Ahlus Sunnah wal jama’ah so we can save ourselves from following in their path and remain firm upon the correct ‘aqeedah and manhaj. So we ask Allah to make his grave an abode of fragrance and light from Jannah and that He forgives him of his sins and grants him jannatul firdaus with the best of Companions, Prophet Muhammad sallalahu ‘alayhe wasallam, the rest of the Prophets and Messengers and the Sahaabah. Ameen.

And our last call is that all praise belongs to Allah the Most High.

wassalamu ‘alaykum

    Salam ‘alayk.

It’s been quite some time since i last visit your blog. Almost forgot about it.

Dear akh, just wondering.. why is it the passing away of Dr Saleh as-Saleh is being widely spread, but not the passing away of Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd? Whereas Shaykh Bakr passed away a few days after Dr Saleh as-Saleh..

And what’s the website of Dr Saleh as-Saleh?

Wa ‘alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah akhi

Yea, havent talked in long time. Hope everything is well with you inshaAllah. The reason being to your question, and Allah knows best, is that Dr. Saleh as-Saleh would give classes in English so many Muslims would tune in to the paltalk room to listen to his classes. So more people from the West knew of Dr. Saleh as-Saleh as a teacher than Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd rahimahumullah.

    His website is

I see.. I won’t be online for a while.. I’m going into camp this Friday to serve my National Service.. 4 weeks of PTP (physical training phase) and 9 wks of BMT (basic military army)..

Yup, i’m being enlisted in the Army.. Al-hamdu lillah, it’s much easier to keep the beard and i’ll be able to put what i’ve learnt in fiqh into practice, such as tayammum or wiping over the boots, etc..
